The
kit is a ‘Teaching and Learning’ kit that I have
devised,
using my experience of distance learning as an Open University Tutor,
to enable an individual to be able to ‘do’ the
craft of rag
rugging.
The small sample in the kit ‘guides’ and ‘supports’ the learning process and ensures success. It has been developed from the interest to learn the craft from the visitors I meet when demonstrating at Clovelly. |
![]() PRODDY KIT |
The
purchaser can start immediately and only requires a pair of scissors to
cut the fabric pieces. The kit has sufficient fabric to
commence,
although requiring further fabric to complete the
rug. It is often
having to collect resources prior to starting a craft which can dampen
the immediacy and enthusiasm to 'do'.
Rag rugging is a process of recycling and this is carried through into the kit, the enclosed fabric is recycled and marked out to guide how to cut out the fabric pieces. The enclosed piece of hessian is of a size that is achievable and the project can be completed. The price is also at an affordable one thereby making it accessible to families. |
