Rag Rugging Kit

My Rag Rugging Kit is a distance learning kit which allows you to learn to rag rug if you cannot attend my classes.  As an Open University Tutor I understand the challenges of distance learning and my kit has a unique mini rag rag that I make [I must have made 1000's and 1000's] to help successful learning to take place.

I have supplied them for many years to the National Trust where rag rugs are a part of the property or I provide workshops such as The Old Post Office Tintagel [View Here] Buckland Abbey [View Here] and Finch Foundry [View Here]

Barnstaple Embroidery Group

My embroidery group meets twice a month at the Roundwell Community Centre, Barnstaple [next to Sainsbury's].  All types of embroidery can be learnt here from surface embroidery to ribbon embroidery, stumpwork and goldwork.  I will also teach rag rugging at these sessions.

Students are working on different projects and group size is small with between 10-12 in each session.

My web site has details of dates and examples of 'work in progress' and completed works.

I was asked by Zoe Knott, Retail Manager of the National Trust property Upton House, to produce an embroidery kit based on a design that she had created. Beaded embroidery was an important part of the 1920's so one of the designs had to incorporate beads.

The kits went on sale in August and can only be purchased from Upton House.

Rag Rugging Kits: The Little Animal Kits

My Little animal kits which started with just the squirrel have been so popular as rag rugging workshop 'makes' and as kits.

Originally I was asked by a National Trust property in the Lake District to design one that fitted in with their theme of their resident Red Squirrel population. He proved so popular that I then designed the owl the next year. At the same time I developed the Clovelly Fish and Clovelly Lobster.

Last year I had a 'creative surge' and designed and got into production the Sheep, Ladybird, Green Turtle and Hedgehog.

New animals to be released this Winter/Spring: Bee, Octopus, Polar Bear, Penguin, Dog
